Hey there, I can't find other threads on this but are there more people facing problems with the C port? My charger is so loose in my 6T from.

Too many dark evenings of trial and error, flipping the microUSB cable to fit the slot. So when the Pixel 2 came with a USB-C port, that was a big.

usb c wobbly

Is there any chance of shorting the port with a metal pin? You've had far better luck than we've had then. You're Not Alone 30 posts. And bending happens pretty easily.

The USB port has been so loose that the slightest vibration would break the connection, causing endless frustration A few forum posts recommended cleaning out the port to improve "grip", so I did just that this web page a stiff brush last night.

Just solved this issue by using safety pin to scrape out lots of compacted lint. I have had my OG Pixel wow Never had any such problem with the USB-C port.

Pitches have become much smaller with USB-C so there's an increased possibility of a pin lifting, internally. What nonsense is this? It's either in my hand, on the table, in my car's cup holder, or a convenient shirt pocket. I love this so much right now. As an update, I've found that twist ties work well in a pinch to clean out the port.

I had the same problem with my USB-C phone. There's no power running through the pins. But I very seldom put it in my pants pocket. Only certain cables work and only at certain angles.

Now if it weren't for the poor battery life, I'd stick with this phone a lot longer I'm waiting on the 4 because it has face unlock. My speaker openings and USB-C port are pretty cruddy.

The wafer in the port makes cleaning it a lot more delicate than the open Lightning port. The solution? The only cable that made a reliable connection was the one that came with the Pixel 3, but that same cable was extremely tight on other devices, to the point where I was worried I might damage other devices with it.

This finickiness is garbage. It's just apparently laughably easy to bypass Samsung phone UIs are so bad that I would rather shout at a rock that has Googly eyes and tetanus.

Are you going with Google phones only? Unfortunately, there's not much I can change in my lifestyle or attire to reduce USB-C cruft, so I guess I'll just have to continue cleaning the port.

I'm a usb c wobbly climber and fingerprint unlock doesn't work after climbing. That has to be a pocket issue. Otherwise I'd go for the 3 with the current discounts. I have been thinking of getting one of those gummy cleaner things they make for cleaning car vents and such. Quote: I'm hoping my phone holds out until I can get a Pixel 4.

Was surprised how much there was! So you might want to consider adding one to your standard travel load out. Dug out a pile of compacted lint and now it works perfectly. And I would recommend a toothpick or flosser over a usb c wobbly item; harder to accidentally damage the internals with wood visit web page plastic.

I guess I could use a normal pin, but a safety pin is easier to hold and manipulate finely. My original one eventually got looser than a hot dog down a hallway and I fear that they're the same Foxconn connectors, maybe a similar batch given the similar age of the phones.

Have had no issues with the port, though. I don't know, that's just an idea, could be something else entirely. Lots of gunk was extricated over 10 minutes, and afterwards the connection has been I still won't rely on USB C headphones for a call, but raising and lowering my standing desk at work no longer breaks charging sessions.

Works great. No amount of cleaning the port or replacing the cables with better cables ever provided anything more than a slight marginal benefit. It's just apparently laughably easy to bypass.

I can't imagine that I wouldn't lose them, but they do make these usb c wobbly port covers for just this purpose. It's probably the cord, but I don't have any other C to C cords other than that single one which came with the phone which I could swap and see.

I don't have a Pixel, butttt The issue is almost always the jack of the phone or whatever device, and it's only dumb luck if I can get it working quickly.

We have tons of micro-USB that bent and became intermittent to the point that we've been keeping spares on the production floor.

The headphone adapter has the same angle issue. I usually don't use a SIM ejector tool, since a usb c wobbly pin can be used for other purposes in a pinch emergency button repair, for examplewhereas a SIM ejector tool is unifunctional. The camera and reliable software updates Win.

I've never had any issues with my USB-C port. I carry one around when travelling anyway to swap SIMs. This is a common problem, and affects Micro USB and Lightning, and pretty much every other port out there just as much.

Die fast. Too bad the charger that came with it is dead. Of course all of this only applies to connection issues caused by debris in the port. U wrote:.

I could just use a pin or something, but I'm concerned that the sharp point will damage anything that's behind the cloth covering. U wrote: Any tips on how best to clean this piece of junk port? Also, I think all my phone's have gotten port gunk but the naturally more loose USB C causes the issue to be more frustrating.

Like hester, I think you're mostly picking up crap in your pocket. Quote: Is there any chance of shorting the port with a metal pin?

The best thing I've used is just Silly Putty. Moderator et Subscriptor. Again, insufficient data to say, but hopefully USB-C will reduce that failure rate. U usb c wobbly asbath wrote: Are you going with Google phones only? I'll be curious if you continue to have issues after cleaning.

Again you've had usb c wobbly luck than we've had. Not sure where you fall on the whole phone case situation, but you might consider a case that has a flap to seal off the port. This degree of looseness without any contaminates in the port or the plug is the problem I had with two brand new Pixel 3 units back in November.

I'm hoping my phone holds out until I can get a Pixel 4. Not sure if you think the 4 is required or not, but the Pixel 3 has wireless charging too.

If the physical port is loose usb c wobbly one is SOL. I haven't has a USB-C port or plug break yet?! I pretty commonly wake up to a partially charged phone.

Maybe a wooden toothpick to dig around first on something like a port, but even on those speaker grills with the microscopic holes, I've never had it leave any residue or putty behind. Quote: I have had a few Micro cords which only worked at the correct angle, but those never had the power or data speed compatibility issues which come with C. Same situation here, and I don't have any build up of lint or other small trash. I usually clean out my ports with the pointy end of a safety pin. Upon further reflection, I have had a few Micro cords which only worked at the correct angle, but those never had the power or data speed compatibility issues which come with C. Rooting around once a quarter keeps the connection pretty firm. Because if you're not too worried about security, Samsung phones have face unlock too. One possibility is just that you are wearing pants with more lint-y pockets, and that switch to new wardrobe just happens to coincide with your switch to a USB-C phone. It's bad enough you never know if a USB-C cable will carry the wattage load or data speed you expect it to, but I can't even count on the jack or cable to work reliably. Safety pin cleaning no longer works for me. I guess cleaning lint from ports could be considered one of those purposes. There's nothing in the port, it's just loose. I had to end up replacing the phone under extended non-free warranty and the replacement went back to a satisfying snap and a connection strong enough to lift the phone by the cable. I almost RMAed it. Sometimes rapid charging works, sometimes it trickle charges. Despite all this, I'm sticking with the Pixel line. Two of my friends with Pixel 2s have the same problem.
